Sunday dinner (briefly) Louisiana strawberries!
It seems awful early, but strawberries from Hammond, Louisiana, hit the local produce stand this weekend.

Louisiana strawberries were available in Jackson about a week ago, but I don’t know if they were from Hammond. They sure are good.

We’ve polished off a flat and a half over the past three weeks. They have been delicious.

Waaaaaah again! Down here in Flordy, we get these gorgeous looking facsimiles — with barely any aroma and no flavor or texture whatsoever. How I miss Louisiana strawbs. And Georgia Belle peaches, may I add. And Colorado canteloupes. And my mama and daddy’s homegrown ‘maters. Oh waah waah waah and waaaaaaah. (sniff snort)

Haven’t had the strawberries yet, but I finally got me some Hoover sauce; used it as a marinade on some grilled steaks. Yummm. Hoover Lee hisownself delivered the sauce to me at a gas station parking lot. Felt kind of illicit, even though he does charge sales tax. He delivers to the Jackson area regularly, btw. Good stuff.

I ever get back to Jackson, I gotta synchronize watches with Mr. Hoover Lee, you bet.
Oh ducky, thanks for our Sunday hymn, too (gee, church sho has changed, I reckon)!

Hey duckweed - had a similar rendezvous with Mr. Lee just last week. It’s probably my 4th or 5th such delivery though.

I went by his store in Louise. That’s an experience all by itself!
